I am 174 cm tall, does that mean I am five'7 or 5'viii and a half?

When I google this some sources say v'7 and some say v'8 and a half. I am extremely confused well-nigh this every bit someone who has used the metric system their entire life. When I google the question the first answer that shows up is "5.70866142 anxiety (5 feet 8½ inches)" but like... what the hell does that even hateful? When someone asks me practice I respond five'7 or five'8? I'k genuinely so confused

At that place are twelve inches in a foot. An inch is exactly ii.54 centimeters (by definition). You are 68.5 inches tall. That's five feet 8 ½ inches. Mathematically it is around 5.7 feet but you're not really supposed to convert less than 12 inches into percentages of a foot. Imperial measurements don't really apply decimals, only fractions.

Honestly, if someone asks y'all, but tell them 174cm. The efforts of conversion should exist made by those using the light-headed system.

If yous do want to catechumen, the trick is that there are more 10 inches in a foot. So 0.7 foot is about 8.5 inches.

The 12-inches-to-a-foot thing is and so bizarre that OP mistook 5.7' for 5'7". It seems downright a silly mistake to anyone who grew up with inches, only I honestly can't arraign OP for this 1. The foot/inches system is idiotic.
